Boulart Inc. wishes to formalize its commitment to sustainable development in an official policy, which will provide a framework for stakeholders willing to pursue this path, for the benefit of both the organization and society in general.

As part of this policy, our organization is committed to undertaking the following actions:

  1. Define the sustainable development principles that are relevant to our organization.
  2. Integrate these principles into our management processes, particularly in our decision-making.
  3. Act consistently and responsibly in our practices.
  4. Demonstrate initiative in sustainable development matters.
  5. Collaborate internally to foster synergy and share knowledge or other relevant resources.
  6. Involve our suppliers, customers and employees in the realization of our sustainability objectives.
  7. Work with citizens and communities to implement sustainability commitments.
  8. Put in place a continuous improvement process for our practices to respond to emerging insights in the sustainability field.
  9. Measure results, evaluate progress and disseminate this information.

This policy serves as our framework for implementing this commitment.

  • Boulart Inc. must be able to demonstrate and communicate its environmentally responsible actions.

  • Boulart Inc. and its stakeholders are concerned with the fair and equitable treatment of employees.
  • Employees want to work in a stable, healthy and safe environment that offers competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Boulart Inc. must find and retain a qualified workforce.

Economic

  • Customers want a consistent product experience.
  • Manufacturing processes must be efficient without compromising food safety.

The environment

  • Boulart Inc. and its commercial and institutional customers, consumers and employees are increasingly concerned about issues such as climate change, environmental protection and waste and water management.
  • Customers expect recyclable or compostable packaging, but any packaging must also maintain product quality and safety.

Our vision, mission and values

Our vision: At Boulart, we embrace the notion of less is more. Our breads are made with only a handful of natural ingredients. No GMOs, no sugar, no additives, no tricks. We believe in the industrialization of artisan bread and the importance of making good bread accessible to all.

Our mission: Demonstrate industrial precision in the production of our breads while using traditional artisanal processes and natural ingredients to deliver exceptional quality, taste and texture.

Our sustainability policy is rooted in our core values:

  • Ensure the manufacturing of safe, consistent and healthy food by maintaining various certifications and quality standard compliance.

Responsible production and consumption

  • Ensure best-practice management of purchasing and residual materials.
  • Reduce our products’ environmental impact.

Scope of application

Policy scope

This policy applies to all Boulart Inc. employees and governs all of the organization’s activities. It also serves as a framework for relations with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and the community in which the organization operates.

The Sustainability Policy orients all the other policies already implemented within the organization. It thus becomes the policy that guides the behaviours and strategies arising from all other policies.
